Thameside House redevelopment

Spelthorne Borough Council has a target from the government to build 618 homes per year for the next 15 years. The Council’s housing register has also risen from 1,942 households to approximately 3,300 in the last 2 years, representing a serious house crisis that the council must address. It is important for the Council to deliver more high-quality housing to let at affordable rents to local people.

Following feedback, we are consulting on revised proposals to the application which has been submitted for the development of Thameside House, in South Street, Staines under Ref: 20/00344/FUL. These changes have been made in response to public comments on the planning application to reduce the number of proposed residential from 140 to 106 units, including the reduction of height of the proposed taller building on site A.  The development also now proposes some important new employment floorspace which is being created to retain and create new jobs in Staines that will also contribute to the long-term sustainability of the town centre.
